Apple files for ‘PowerSong’ trademark

“On November 16, the European Office of ‘Harmonization in the Internal Market’ published Apple’s latest trademark/service mark application for ‘POWERSONG.’ The records show that Apple’s priority filing was made in Trinidad and Tobago in May 2006 under application number 37260. Apple has listed Powersong under International Classes 9, 38 and 42. The most relevant is Apple’s listing of International Class 38 which revolves around communications and telecommunications services generally, with emphasis on MP3 web sites and delivery of digital music online specifically – which is in tune, of course, with Powersong,” Neo reports for MacNN.

Neo reports, “In light of recent news about the iPhone-like device being readied for early 2007, by some accounts, Apple’s new trademark Powersong will certainly fuel the fire on all things iPhone.”
