“Almost lost in last week’s new iPod announcements was the iPod U2 Special Edition. In the days following Apple’s special event, the company has quietly updated the black-and-red model to bring it in line with the current “enhanced” fifth-generation (5G) iPod. Apple has also cut the price of the U2 iPod—from $329 to $279—to reflect the newly lowered price of the standard 30GB 5G iPod,” Larry Angell reports for iLounge.
“The U2 iPod features an all-black enclosure with black stainless steel back, red Click Wheel, and engraving of U2 band member signatures, and comes packaged with an iTunes Store coupon that can be redeemed for a 30-minute video of U2 music videos and band interviews,” Angell reports.

Much cooler than a brown Zune.
U2 is getting old. How about a Beatles addition
Jocko, while I would be more likely to pay extra for a Beatles Edition, “the other Apple” is not hardly likely to allow that. It’s sad, I know, but them’s the facts.
I can see the Beatles coming onboard eventually…it may just take awhile.
Jocko: U2 is getting old. How about a Beatles addition
LOL. And the Beatles are younger?
Microsoft Zune Beatles Special Edition in psychedelic Sgt. Pepper colors (just because they lost the lawsuit) not selling in a store near you.
No matter, I have AACs of 351 Beatles tracks, which I believe is a complete collection.
Apple Corp. should also realize that we children of the ’60s are getting older. Might be that children of the ’70s don’t want any Beatles music.
MW: Get a move on it!
Make that Eric Clapton and I buy one tomorrow….

U2 sucks
Now, a nice deep blue, B.B. King edition (100 gb) would do nicely. Or an Art Deco gray and black Frank Sinatra iPod would be nice too.
