“About seven months ago, I wrote a post on this blog about being turned down when I needed to order a large batch of minis. I was told they couldn’t take large orders at that time. Six days later, the new Intel mini was released. It then made sense,” Brian reports for FreeMacBlog.com.
Brian reports, “Well, guess what just happened again.”

Driver,
Both companies making video cards based on ATI chips and those making cards based upon nVidia chips are making HDCP (and ICT) compliant boards. All you have to do is buy one! Just check into the details, not many boards are compatible but they do exist!
However, to my knowledge, Apple does not ship a HDCP compliant system at the moment.
Additionally you DO NOT have to have a HDCP compliant HDMI or DVI connection at this time. All the major studios have said they will not implement the ICT flag until at least 2010.
Magic Word: horse …. as in I wish people would stop spouting horsesh*t
I love my Mac Mini (PowerPC). I just loaded it up with a gig of memory and it zips right a long.
And now that the PowerPC is a dead platform (not being sold new), virus writings are not targeting it…So for the next year or so (maybe two) there’s no way I’ll ever get a virus…god I love my mini.
Both the mini and the iMac are due for CPU upgrades – either to Merom or Conroe. I’d be very surprised if it was not that.
Rick, mind telling me how it’s possible to run 2 mac minis as one server?
I’m running pretty much the same setup as Rick — two mini database servers with external, faster hard drives. Except that we’re running FileMaker, not 4D. They’re both G4s and they run great; I certainly wouldn’t mind upgrading them to Core Duos sometime. There’s something really cool about having two of your servers sit on top of their own KVM switch boxes.
I want a mini with a replaceable VGA card, and a full size hard drive.
That is all.

Hopefully a new mac mini will have a built in tv tuner or ship with the EyeTV, and have a dedicated video card. I finally just got a job to save up for a mac mini, hopefully a new one comes out quick
