CNET has posted video (and really low volume audio) of Apple CEO Steve Jobs introducing Apple’s new iPod Hi-Fi and new Intel-based Mac mini on Tuesday. The video is sponsored by Microsoft, no less.

    What I found interesting was that the commercial was an anti-linux (Linux vs. Windows Server) commercial. Wow, giant M$ is worried about Linux now, eh? One point in the commercial was something about “total cost of ownership”, hmmm, interesting to see M$ using that line of reasoning. Boy, I guess M$ must be losing a LOT (iPDN MW) of customers to Linux.

  2. Ugliest “speaker system” I have ever seen. And inferior sound quality compared to Altec Lansing and others. Hardly an example of Apple innovation. This is the “mighty mouse” of speakers. It hooks certain folks like yourself because it’s an Apple branded accessory while possessing few real tangible benefits.

  3. It’s a product for a limited market; not the product to replace your home stereo. Take it to the “cabana” and place it on the table (over a scratch-friendly table cloth, presumably) and it’s good. Great for a picnic, sure; a party, maybe. But a replacement for the home stereo? Naah… a toy for those who can afford it … priced to be profitable at low sales volume. For that price, a stereo company could toss in a CD player and radio; and maybe for a little bit more, comparable speakers.
