Apple adds NBC-owned TV Shows to online iTunes Store

NBC Universal and Apple Computer Inc. have begun a partnership that makes NBC-owned programs available via Apple’s iTunes Music Store.

In October, Walt Disney and Apple began selling ABC’s “Lost,” “Desperate Housewives,” and three other shows, along with music videos and Pixar shorts, for $1.99 per download.

  1. Now give me Family Guy and American Idol episodes the day after airing and I’ll be happy. Oh, and please thrown in some Thundercats, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors and Days of Our Lives…just for the freak in me ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  2. Sweet. I noticed it this morning. Already downloaded episodes of Monk, Law & Order (the SVU crossover), and Surface.
I can’t wait until other stations start coming on board.

  3. Ok. I didn’t notice before, and its not like I’d really download either Conan or Jay Leno, but what’s with just selling segments of the show?? That sucks big time. That pretty much guarantees I won’t be buying any of those episodes.

  4. It’s 9.99 for a full length comedy special from Conan. I highly recommend it, because I was in the audience.

Heck, the DVD for that special was 9.99 on a good day. Good job NBC!

  5. I hope that somebody at the networks realizes that vintage TV will sell like hots-cakes < “Green Acres” line. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />

  6. Now I can dump my cable and only download and watch BattleStar Galactica. Everything else I can get for basic cable (only $8 a month). This could cause some serious problems for the cable distributers. Their packages of channels for a lot of money isn’t going to work so well anymore….

  7. Where did the 10 minutes only for Conan or Jay showed up? I didn’t see this limitation in the scanned copy. 10 minutes may cover the opening monologue, but wouldn’t cover the followup comedy segment at the desk. They need at least the first 20 minutes to cover the good stuff on late night shows. Everything after that is crap, so I wouldn’t care if they dumped that stuff.

  8. Battlestar Galactica?!?!?
    Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that was a SiFi Channel original? NBC owns it? Double cool! (yes, I actually said double cool)

Wait, are they talking about the original Battlestar Galactica from the 70’s? Oh well, it’s a start.

  9. Just checked out ITMS. It is the new Battlestar Galactica, Triple Cool!

    So, where’s the orignal 70’s version! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”cool smirk” style=”border:0;” />

  10. “Ah, now that I can finally pay for TV shows I’ll stop watching them for free”

Ummm, first of all you are paying a monthly fee for cable. Secondly, you are paying a mental price in being advertised to (50% show, 50% advertising), which will give you ADD, and make you think that somehow you are watching those shows “for free”.
