First Albany reiterates ‘buy’ on Apple Computer, raises target price; HP iPod concerns ‘unwarranted’

Analysts at First Albany have reiterated their ‘buy’ rating on Apple Computer Inc (AAPL) and raised their target price from $44 to $48.

In a research note, First Albany analysts mentioned that concerns about HP’s decision to stop reselling the iPods under its own brand, caused a recent “unwarranted” decline in the company’s share price. According to the analysts, Apple Computer has significantly increased its own distribution points and revenues from HP comprised just a small part of Apple’s total revenues.

Synaptics’ recent sluggish outlook reflects Apple Computer’s decision to exclude the former’s products from the next generation iPods, the analysts say.
