  1. Everyone stay away from Newmanstein when the pants come off. It won’t be a pretty sight. But supposedly the run will only last for 3 to 5 revolutions so it should all be over shortly.

  2. Ironically, what PC Wintel users have left to do to be excited about computing nowadays?
    WAITING FOR STEVE JOBS KEYNOTES

LOL, ROFLMAO, all the PC heads I know around here are excited almost as I am. Says a lot about how much a Wintel PC sucks!

  3. Over the past 5 years, each one of Steve’s keynotes have blown me away, so this year I’m taking preemptive action and I have installed a 5-point seat belt harness onto my chair. Besides, after the keynote, I could always use it on my boyfriend to secure him for…

  4. Something has got to give with all this tension!

First the waiting for the release of OS X Tiger. Hanging around my front porch waiting for the UPS dude. And now this potential watershed moment in my Mac life!

Damd this waiting and suspense! Damd it all to hell!

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”big surprise” style=”border:0;” />

  5. Good point, BTW! When was the last time Windows IT geeks were ever excited about anything?

I can’t imagine what it must be like to be trapped in a Windows-addicted company and see Steve’s keynote? Anything Steve shows today will be too late for Microsoft to incorporate into Longhorn, so their users must wait at least 3 years to ever see it on their own desk. The best Microsoft can do is continue with their flood of hollow ads.

I think Apple’s best advertising is the tremendous buzz that is created and invades the IT world like a wild fire. This form of info has much more validity than any self-promoting ad could possibly do.

  6. yeah, I was just thinking that if Jobs announces an Intel deal, the boos will be very loud… I guess we’ll have to see. Jobs, the salesman, had better make this a worthwhile announcement or many of the Mac faithful may be turned off.

Sure it’s the OS. But if the OS is designed to run on Power PC chips, this could make computing a nightmare…

  7. I wonder if there is anything hiding in Tiger, secretly switched on in 10.4.1, that Steve will announce.

With .Mac being down for “system maintenance” right in the middle of the day during Steve’s chat, there MUST be something afoot… something huge!

  8. TYK, it is VERY possible that Intel could be making a G5- dual or G6 CPU that has NOTHING to do with their other chips. Don’t get so hung up on the manufacturing company; it’s the x86 CPU (Pentium family) that sucks!

  9. when was the last time Windows IT geeks were ever excited about anything?

when they found out ‘Trusted Computing’ can’t be trusted, and SP2 was a slightly more resilient version of swiss cheese and they could all keep their jobs as IT specialists?

  10. Since Ive never thought it important to keep up with Intel … could someone tell me if they have finally produced a 64-bit processor which does not catch fire yet ??

Otherwise … with all the hype we are currently hearing about The Big Apple switch to Intel… just doesnt make sense !

    MW = waiting … how fitting !

  11. See the mantra shift from

Intel sucks Intel sucks Intel sucks

    to

    x86 sucks x86 sucks x86 sucks

C’mon! The dice haven’t even been cast yet!

Until after the keynote announces that Macs will run on Intels, the party line is ‘Intel sucks’, you hear?!

  12. ThinkSecret claims “Apple is not offering a QuickTime or satellite feed of today’s keynote”.

MDN says they will have the feed.

    What’s up?

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grrr” style=”border:0;” />

  13. Expect to hear how well sales are going for the 1st half an hour…and see all the hype you’re actually waiting for relegated to the “one more thing” show.

  14. And what a sad day that will be for you, “stantheman”. For who will you have to focus your bitter, angry, hatred?

I’m not worried, though. You’ll find something else to hate. After all, the only alternative is to find contentment with your own life, and for such a pathetic bitter man such as yourself, that’s not really an option, is it?

  15. After Apple dies I will probably troll the linux boards. I am carrying some weight here. After I started posting here, shortly thereafter Apple decided to kill itself with Intel.

Intel is wretched. Go with AMD at least if you are moving from PPC. But oh well. Apple wants to commit hari-kari. Works for me.

Can’t wait till all you macheads are forced to used Windows.

    Toodles

  16. MacMania,

Re-read the article. Their coverage will consist of someone reporting on the keynote through this medium. Their will be no live visual or audio feed.

  17. mac dood: yes, Intel has MP and 64-bit new chip sets, announced it April.

There are something like 3 or 4 different MP 64-bit variations Intel has been developing so far. Some have so interesting features that I understand how those would entice Apple to have exclusive market.

Again, nothing to do with x86, new generation chips. We might hear from SJ in due time and finally get over with it ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”wink” style=”border:0;” />

  18. There is something bigger than what we expect going on.

Read the signs. They are out there….

1.- All the rumors are coming from serious sources (ny times, usa today etc..) where is thinksecret, macosrumors, macminute… So apple is really paying them to shut it off (the rumor chain)

2.- The Tiger add that has been in the apple page is now gone. And there is a TOP WIDGETS download that will soon go off.

3.- .Mac doesnt work, out of order…

4.- Stock market is not moving much

5.- Numerous reports, crazy ones and believable ones, yet when the river sounds it´s because it brings rocks…

    ROCK ON WWDC

  19. stantheidiot? And why moving to Intel in the future would cause Apple die?

Retarted, you will still need to buy from Apple to run OS X.
What will happen on the contrary is that new technology from Intel will ONLY be available on Apple computers and PCs becomes today obsolete, even for an Intel aficionado.

    It’s the OS X idiot!

  20. Hope Steve has a lock on all PowerPC G5s and G4s so they can´t pull the plug on him….before any such new rumored processor is available….

And I sure hope this new processor won´t work with Microsoft OS….

  21. “Their coverage will consist of someone reporting on the keynote through this medium” (SkyCapt).

So we’ll all be refreshing our browsers every few? Hope MDN is up to the traffic.

    Oh well.

    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />

  22. “could someone tell me if they have finally produced a 64-bit processor which does not catch fire yet ??”

Yes. but it comes with a 40 lb air conditioner.

  23. Seahawk ….

Thanx for the heads up…. I guess that Intel announcement you speak up musta flew right past me !!

    Beverly ….

You owe me a new keyboard…cuz I just sprayed my old one with my morning coffee while reading your post !!
    ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”LOL” style=”border:0;” />

  24. Heads up:

be ready to absorb a demo on stage concerning these Intel rumors that will be a watershed in server area and announce Apple entering server market with the violence of a tornado.

  25. Heads up:

be ready to absorb a demo on stage concerning these Intel rumors that will be a watershed in server area and announce Apple entering server market with the violence of a tornado.

And no BOOOOOs after that but WWWOOWOWOWOWOWWWWOOWWWWWs

Future cannot be better at One Infinity

  26. I´ll be having lunch at Fonatana´s (Italian Restaurant, 20840 Stevens Creek Blvd in Cupertino.

Since you are buying, Phil, I´ll be ordering the Capellini Astice Pasta, Filetto alla Griglia (steak). And for the wine I like their Cabernet Sauvignon Caymus, Napa, 2002 ($95 a bottle). Or we could go with a bottle of Dom Perignon, Epernay, France, 1995-$125.00.

I usally park at the Whole Foods Market – look for the red Porsche 911.

    See you there.

  27. .Mac could be down because they are updating it with the exclusive widgets for .mac members. On the .mac homepage this feature has been said to be coming soon since Tiger was released. Jobs will probably demo the new widgets in his keynote.

  28. I dare everyone to shut up until this announcement either happens or doesn’t.

Since most of you will fail to take up this challenge, I’ll offer this: The only way this wouldn’t (if it happens) screw everyone over is if they start distributing a Windows app emulator.

  29. Hey Steve, I thought you hated TV. I was on Apple.com (wait, I mean my best friend was) and on front page was, A large photo of TV Tracker a widget I came up for LongHorn FIRST. I wanted to call it ShortHorn in remeberance of me, but the entire company laughed at me when I told them about it. Well, your keynote is about to start and I need to steal (I mean borrow) some ideas you put off today.

    Your Friend,
    Bill Gates

P.S. I love you. (I mean I love your work.) (wait screw it, here goes, I love you.)

  30. Steve Jobs is now peddling backwards on all the trash he talked about Intel vs. RISC/IBM. I’m not buying into any more hype from this guy. All of my new Mac computers just went down the toilet in resale values. Once bitten twice shy!

    H E L L O A M D / L I N U X ! ! !

  31. Well, well. Like i’ve said before, It’s the OS stupid. I don’t mind the thought of an intel Mac. Get me the Ghz for gamming and the OS gives me the productivity do get things done. Altivec is also a fact of life in the Intell world, just has a different name. See you all there soon. I hope.
