Piper Jaffray: Demand for Apple Macs and iPods remains strong

“Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said that demand for the various Macintosh computers and iPods remains strong, and that Apple appears to have worked out efficiency issues so that it should be able to fully meet market demand for the first time in a year,” Rex Crum reports for MarketWatch.

“In a research note, Munster wrote that Apple has been able to shrink the shipping times of products such as the Mac mini and some versions of the PowerBook notebook computer to a single business day, from a much as seven business days,” Crum reports. “He also said that Apple remains in strong demand through outside retailers such as Amazon.com, which has four Apple computers in its top 10 list of best-selling PCs.”

    No – you don’t need a dual G4 or G5 to run iChat 2; they’re only required to intiate/host multiple video chats. If you’re just doing 1-1 chats, or only plan on being INVITED to multiple video chats, then a single G4, 1ghz+ will suffice.
