“Owners of the new PlayStation Portable handheld video game player can now take adult magazine Playboy on the road with them — and they don’t have to bother with the articles,” Reuters reports. “The online arm of Playboy Enterprises Inc. on Wednesday said it will offer photo galleries and videos shot and edited specifically for the PSP.”
“Playboy said ‘PlayboyStation Portable’ is available for free, in the form of two non-nude picture galleries and one free video. Subscribers to Playboy’s online service can access premium nude content,” Reuters reports. The company last year created an “iBod” feature formatted for Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod photo digital music player and picture viewer.”

Last December, Playboy.com launched their “iBod” feature that allowed users to download customized Playboy photo galleries to Apple iPod photos. According to Playboy, “It was an international sensation, and thousands of tech-savvy lovers of the female form hammered the site to bring home girls on the go.”

Um….iMaki had it right…..pornography (i.e., playboy) is, along with other things, eroding the moral fabric of our society. So Roy, have you been to all these countries that you claim are less conservative than the US? And yes, it is the human race in general that lusts, but the american society is known for its addiction to everything sexual. It has saturated our lives-it is everywhere. How can you compare erotic cartooning to real porn?? One is the real thing, the other is an imitation. Your comparisons are flawed. Bernini and Michaelango were artists, playboy editors are not. If you are going to argue a particular view, make sure you are well informed. After reading what you wrote, it is clear you are not.
And I will end with this-exploitation is not beauty.
hedgehogfrenzy — you could not be more wrong.
You write: “Yes, people will involve themselves in “sex crimes” if porn is in existance or not. But, porn encourages that behavior.”
This is untrue. There has never been a scientifically-validated study that has proven a causal link between “pornography” and an increase in “sex crimes”. Hell, the Meese commission under Reagan tried like crazy to find such a link and admitted that they couldn’t. Your logic is flawed. And anyone with a modicum of intelligence understands the difference between nudity and pornography. Tell me, are naturist (what you might call ‘nudist’) publications ‘pornography’? They display simple, innocent nudity amongst people comfortable with who they are — people declared by most sociologists and behavioral psychologists to be far more emotionally healthy than the ‘average’ uptight American.
But I especially like when you write: “Anyway, just because nudity is seen everywhere in other countries, dosen’t make it right. You can’t point to some other place and say, “Well, they’re doing it,” and consider that rational.”
Again, often incorrect. When you look at many of those ‘other countries’ and see that they have LOWER incidences of sexual assault, LOWER rates of teenage pregnancy, LATER onset of first sex, FEWER sexually transmitted diseases, etc., then you have to conclude that they’re doing SOMETHING right that we in the good old know-it-all USA are doing wrong.
Tell me, if you have children, do you more readily allow them to watch movies and television shows with violence as opposed to simple nudity — or even loving portrayals of sex? Because in many of those ‘other countries’, as you call them, they look at our American predisposition toward violent entertainment and concomitant disdain and fear of things nude and/or sexual as truly bizarre.
I think they are correct.
Jesus said, “…everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
The seventh commandment is “You shall not commit adultery.”
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13)
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6)
On judgement day you will have to stand before God. Will you be innocent or guilty of breaking his law? Will you go to heaven or hell?

Ummm . . . “Prophet”: SMOKE IT!
What about figure artists? They look at nude females all the time!!
And hell (pun intended), even WOMEN usually prefer looking at the nude female form versus the nude male form!
I guess we’re ALL going to hell then, huh?
YEEEEEEE-HAWWWWWWWWW!!!!

A man came up to Jesus and asked him what he must do to have eternal life. That’s what this is all about, right? Eternal life. The fountain of youth. What did Jesus say? Obey the commandments. The man said he had obeyed them since he was young. Jesus said, “You’re still lacking one thing. Go and sell everything and give the money to the poor. Then come follow me.” But he went away sad because he was very wealthy. He loved his money more than God, the one who gave him life. Jesus said, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
Here’s the interesting part. This man had done his best to “be good” since he was a kid and Jesus is telling him it’s not good enough. He cannot have eternal life. The disciples were with him and responded just like you, Steve Smith, “We’re all going to hell then, huh?!”
Jesus said, “The things that are impossible for people, are possible with God.”

Prophet,
1.) the rich man had not done his best. Instead, it seems that his actions were based more on what HE thought was right, not what God thinks.
2.) The first perfect humans were created naked. Only after they were imperfect did they begin to clothe themselves.
3.) Why were the first human pair created in paradise on earth if the goal was heaven? God told Adam to subdue the earth, not heaven. You are mistaken about the heavenly hope, and as for hell, if you do your research you will find that it has the equivalent meaning as Sheol and Hades which is nothing more than the common grave. So I guess eveyone eventually goes to hell.
4.) Something tells me you’re on this forum with an agenda other than discussing Mac related news. If you say that it was an Apple that caused Adam to sin, then I suppose you can discuss religion.
1) I agree with you. A large part of Jesus’ message was to explain the heart of the law as being more important than the letter of the law, which is what the preachers of the time taught. For example, lust is the same as adultery, hate is the same as murder. The point is, nobody can keep the law perfectly and therefore all are guilty as charged and condemned on judgement day. Which is why we need a savior.
2) The outward desire to hide ourselves reflects our inward desire to hide ourselves, because of our shame. Not just from others but also from God.
3) The goal is not heaven. The goal is the resurrection. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even if he dies”. A physical eternal life with no disease, sickness, death, or dandruff. As for hell, Jesus describes it as “fiery”, “unquenchable fire”, “furnace of fire”, and a place of “weeping and gnashing of teeth”. Whatever else it may be, it is definitely painful.
4) I’m just answering question’s questions.

Prophet-
1) ” . . . Which is why we need a savior.”
Rubbish.
2) ” . . . because of our shame. Not just from others but also from God.”
Bull. Nudity is not shameful — well, maybe in your religion. And anything created in God’s image is by definition perfect (at least to look at).
3) Hell is right here — on Earth.
4) “I’m just answering question’s questions.”
No, you’re a muckraker — but not a very good one.
Judge not lest ye be judged, “brother!”
Jesus said, “Unless you repent, you will perish.”

How do you know?
I think there is alot of correlation here. With the Mac we discuss often in this forum that only a small percentage of people “get it.” Perhaps the tide is turning, but you know what I mean. One of the things that makes the Mac great in the realm of computers is that the same company who designed the hardware, wrote the OS. They are made for each other. What Prophet is trying say is that we should run the OS that was designed by the designer of our “hardware.” Any thing less is a cheap imitation, like windows.
