EvolutionTV lets Mac OS X users watch and record TV in MPEG-4 and DivX

Miglia Technology has announced EvolutionTV, a new peripheral that allows users to watch and record TV on a Macintosh computer. For current digital TV customers, EvolutionTV connects to the receiver box via S-Video, enabling television viewing on a Mac in either window mode or full screen. The device’s built-in video compression technology also lets users record at the same time without burdening the Mac’s processing speed.

EvolutionTV, housed in an anodized silver aluminium case, allows the scheduling of recordings in advance, and is also tightly integrated with Apple’s iCal. It supports MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 and DivX, the latest video compression technology.

System requirements for EvolutionTV include a Mac with USB 2.0 connectivity, PowerPC G4/800 processor and higher, 256 MB of RAM, and Mac OS X 10.3.x and higher.
