We will be optimizing (especially the new left side feeds column) and fixing things for awhile around here, but welcome to the “new” MacDailyNews which should get faster over the next few hours and also end up working pretty much the same as you’ve come to expect. Yup, the “new” MacDailyNews’ main goal was to be pretty just like the “old” MacDailyNews, just faster and better able to serve our growing traffic needs. We’re almost there.
Oh yeah, we’ll also try to get some more news on here for you soon, too!

Ugs on the flashing ads! Yucko. Why would an advertiser waste money on an annoying ad that makes me want to make sure I never buy a single thing from them?

I don’t mind the ads so much. I understand the need for more income to buy that ’05 Porsche. What bothers me most are those damn animated ads. They are VERY distracting and makes reading the text difficult.
Although iCab has become one of the worst browsers for accurate page rendering, it is still the best in terms of blocking ALL unwanted ads. For me, the ability to freeze the animated GIFs was an awesome idea!
Other MDN observations:
– The alignment of the text boxes in this Feedback area needs tweaking. This text box needs a label.
– The “News Opinions Archives Store” text alignment with the yellow bar needs to be lowered.
– I’ll work on a nicer “MacDailyNews” logo. If I’m on all of the right drugs when I send the samples, I may not ask anything for it.
My back arrow in Safari takes me to the old server, not the new one. Weird.
Seems slower than the old one.
You could at least do away with the completely offensive Windows style ‘You have 2 messages’ crap. How stupid do they think we are?
