HP announces ‘Printable Tattoos for Apple iPod from HP’

2. Good stuff. I was wondering how HP would differentiate it’s iPod seeing as it’s white. I had also been considering how Apple might introduce skins for iPods, like all the different covers available for mobile phones, without increasing the dimensions. This development ties those two together nicely.

   In some respects similar to the LED coloured plastics patents, this enables a single product to be stocked whilst offering a range of colours to suit different tastes.

   Quite possibly a development that’s effect will be greater than it first appears (though I could be wrong!)

3. Very good for corporate and large scale education sales too, iPod with your brand name/colour scheme/logo on. Special edition covers from bands or for marketing exercises makes the iPod more useful as a promotional device.

5. Wow! I’m so chocked that PowerDesign did not bring this to the judge. They have been doing this for years. Maybe HP and APPLE paid some trademarks on that one…

9. for what it’s worth.. Nokia only makes 2 or 3 form functions for the cell phone…

   They have a default size, and shape for the basic model, and another for the flip phone ranges..

   my point?

   these things are the rage in the cell phone market, and it wouldn’t have happened with 30 different shaped models..

   this also explains why the iPod Platform has so many accessories… something the Dell cannot talk about..

   This kind of thing will really make the ipod the defacto standard (admit it.. HP’s distribution and marketing will spread these little jackets more than anything powerdesign could do..)

10. Those HP tatoos are amazing!!

    I can see this really taking off and Apple doubling it’s sales of ipods!

    I would love to have any of those tatoos on my ipod anyday!!

    Looks like the ipod will be turning into the new Nokia!!!

11. personally, I cannot see how Jobs would let HP do this. these tattoo are TERRIBLE. I liked the blue much better.

    I mean, I am glad people like them, but I think they are garish…

    …and will probably sell through the roof.

17. Powerdesign might have gotten there first, but I’d never noticed them before (so they must be crap, right? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”grin” style=”border:0;” />

    Their designs aren’t overly exciting either, compared to the ones seen on the HP ipod site…. some of those are likely to be more reflective of what a consumer might want.

    Some of the Powerdesign (and garish HP ones) look like bad surfboard designs!
