It took them 3+ years to write this software? I dumped my old Microtek scanner some time ago. I hope it’s good for those who waited.
Yup – my “old” ScanMaker is gone, gone, gone… have a Canoscan now and use the excellent program VueScan – don’t need to mess with the Canon software.
This IS welcome, even if it’s late. I know people who have scanners they’ll got a lot more from not having to boot to 9.
I thought sure I’d find my scanner but no luck. Using 3600 model. Wonder if they’ll ever make this one work in OS X?
this software has been out for months.. I downloaded it for my 4800 and it works fine…..
I’ve been using VueScan since migrating to OSX. I was frustrated that the scanner manufacturers could not immediately support the hardware they manufacture. I still don’t have a native OSX driver for my scanner. VueScan has been a lifesaver.
My Scanmaker IV is still waiting for the right OS X drivers. Thank God for VueScan. It has worked for more than a year and the upgrades are free.
This software has been out since last October. This is an update, however.
Some of the scanners on the list has been able to run MacOs X natively via Silverfast for quit some time. The 8700 for exsample. That software is quit a deal better than the ScanWizard software.
No, with 10.3.4, it’s gone again. I haven’t had a “home” scanner that’s been able to keep up. The hardware seems to be okay. I *really* hate to throw away good hardware just because the software keeps slipping in changes.
Hey. That’s why I originally bought a Mac rather than a Windoze box–compatibility, longevity, usability. I hope that vision isn’t lost.
I tried the like for ‘more info and download link’ but the link is broken.
This is the first time I plugged something into a Mac and it did work all by itself! (Of course, I am new to the Mac but have now had seven months with it. I just got my wife an iMac after years or decades of Windows based products).
