WWDC Steve Jobs’ Keynote Reader feedback:

  1. Does the PeeCee world know what’s about to hit them? How will they respond when they can’t even rig the benchmarks to make Wintel win? I can;t wait to watch CNCB types try to figure out 64-bits! “B-b-but, the Pentium 4 is 3.2GHz, how can a 2GHz G5 be so much fatser?”

  2. I work at Intel – I’ll let you all know right now that there are a LOT of people here who are VERY interested in this announcement. Not because of the “competition”, but because these folks LOVE MACS!!!! Our entire department uses them, and – although they will not admit it – the IT department is almost exclusively Macs.

  3. I want to see a 64-bit G5 running beta 64-bit 10.3 cranking out alpha 64-bit Photoshop filters at a rate that makes the neighbouring Operton and Itanium/XP-64 systems wince, and the president of Adobe on his knees weeping to Steve over and over “…we’ll never go to the dark side again…”

Of course, I want a lot of things, but at least it helps to pass the time to 3am Australian Eastern Standard time!

  4. I’ve allowed myself to get caught up in this hype too many times before only to be disappointed. I don;t think anything new will be released except maybe some speed bumps and some software announcments. If there was G5 coming we would have a live video stream of the keynote. Please tell me I’m wrong!!

  5. Man I’ve never seen so much hype generated over a product anouncement. Reminds me of all the hullaballoo prior to the Segway anouncement. Let’s hope there’s more to this than that debacle, otherwise there’s going to be some very dissapointed Mac fans…

  6. I know what you mean Jontahan and Rob. I relly hope this really big…as in newsworthy to more than just us poor Mac users. Afterall, Intel announced a speed bump this morning of up to 3.2Ghz, and M$ announced a new mobile version of Windoze. And we are waiting so patiently for a shiny new box that MAY be as fast as Intel?! I really do hope hope this is BIG to more than just us mac freaks.

  7. Having bought a 12″ POWERBOOK back in February, new hardware is only a curiosity with me. However, I think Panther is going to be a killer OS, along with improvements to the peripheral applications.

  8. 10 minutes! Hell yeah, go kick Microsoft and Intel’s ass, Apple! ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

No offense to you, Wakko. I had no idea so many people used Macs there, that’s cool. ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />
