BBC tests Podcast feed

“The BBC is testing Podcasting. Users can subscribe to download BBC Radio 4 history show, ‘In Our Time’, whenever a new edition is published, though the feature may only be available for a few weeks. Podcasting relies on a variant of RSS, RSS 2.0. This version of the standard lets users wrap multimedia inside an RSS ‘wrapper’. Contents aren’t limited to sound, but in its present form, Podcasters are focused on audible content,” Jonny Evans reports for Macworld UK.

“Mac users can subscribe to the BBC’s feed by using software such as iPodderX,” Evans reports. “Dan Hill, head of interactive technology and design at BBC Radio and Music Interactive, told ExtremeiPod that the podcasting feature will only be available for a few weeks. The BBC is interested in feedback from users of the service. A huge directory of Podcasting feeds is available here.”

  1. Ned is a little misinformed i think…

This can only be good news but I hope they offer AAC in the future and include their popular shows like Westwood’s rap show and the breakfast show…

  2. Ned sed : “Great news for Apple. The BBC is a terrorist loving, pile of crap organization though!”

You know, Ned, it’s idiotic crap like that comment that is turning the USA into a one-party state. Joseph Stalin would be proud of you.

I’ll challenge you to give me one case of the BBC funding terrorism, like the US Government has done consistently through much of the past 50 years.

Or better yet, put down the computer, get back in the fields and get those crops in. Winter’s a-coming.
