Apple sends invites to October 22nd special media event

Apple has now officially invited the media to an October 22nd special media event at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

The event starts at 10am PDT/1pm EDT and is widely expected to usher in a new iPad and iPad mini with Retina display along with the new Mac Pro, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, and new Haswell-powered MacBook Pro with Retina display models along with possible iPod updates.

The new 5th generation iPad is widely expected to take on iPad mini’s bezel configuration, helping to make the device significantly lighted and easier to handle. It’s likely also to be the first product to be powered by Apple’s A7X SoC.

One more thing? Apple iTV? Liquidmetal slap bracelet iWatch (in optional gold)?

  1. Yay! Can’t wait to buy my first iPad, the iPad 5!! It’s gonna be so awesome! Also it will keep me distracted for another year from my old iPhone 4 which is terribly slow thanks to iOS 7, so I can upgrade to iPhone 6.

    1. For Pete’s sake, your iPhone 4 is three years old! Buy a used 4s for $200, then sell the old 4 for $100. The 4s will be worth more a year from now when you buy your 6, so the total cost to upgrade a little now will negligible, and the 4s is much, much faster. My wife’s 4s is almost as fast as my 5 with iOS 7 on it.

  2. They’re so ashamed of iOS 7 that they’re introducing covers like Muslim burqas to cover up the entire iPad like a saran wrap so no one can see the abomination that’s inside.

  3. It looks like a boobs ….

    Oh wait😁

It looks like last year’s October invitation.

    The falling leaves means FALL
Another product will come in colors?
The caption means new smart covers.

It will be awesome if this is about the solar powered smart covers that they’ve patented. Look for it at patently apple.

  4. I have read a lot of tech news today, I can officially say MDN reported the ‘biggest’ news of the day..LAST. By hours? I can also officially announce this is the last time I will visit this site for my Apple news. MDN are just hit whores themselves whom I don’t seriously believe have any passion for Apple, cult, design, products or services. They are here for ad revenue. I hope this opens a few others eyes too. Good bye MDN.

  5. So the last one was “This should brighten everyone’s day.” and we got colorful iPhones including the first gold iPhone.

“We still have a lot to cover.” I suspect means that Apple will announce multiple products. Tim Cook said so earlier in the year and so far we’ve just seen iPhones. Yet to appear are iPads, MacBooks, Mac Pro, Mavericks and possibly and Apple TV, iWatch, Thunderbolt II display plus maybe a little extrea?
