“With just over two weeks left before Apple unveils its next-generation iPhone 5S and the all new iPhone 5C, leaks are now flowing like a river,” Zach Epstein reports for BGR.
“Among them is a new gallery of high-quality gold iPhone 5S photo published over the weekend by emerging Apple insider Sonny Dickson,” Epstein reports. “The photos show Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5S housing in the brand new champagne gold color and while it’s not quite as gaudy as some had feared, it is most certainly still going to be a bit too showy for many users. Of course, Apple is still expected to launch the iPhone 5S in black/slate and white/silver, so there should be something for everyone from Apple this year.”
Epstein reports, “Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 5S during a press conference on September 10th”

“With just over two weeks left before Apple unveils its next-generation iPhone 5S and the all new iPhone 5C”
REALLY, has Apple announced that they are releasing these 2 phones in 2 weeks?
Ok, if the “high-quality” photos were taken indoors and it was taken with the NEW (I don’t care what color) iPhone then that is the story. Has Apple finally fixed the indoor photo problem?
Fixed? Even my 4S takes great indoor photos without any flash. The 5 is 3x better. Maybe you should trade in your iPhone 3?
“it is most certainly still going to be a bit too showy for many users”
Again, REALLY?? You can speak with certainty that it is too showy? REALLY?
I agree, Ray. Based on the recent photos, I believe that the champagne color looks very nice and elegant. People are really reaching to criticize a product that they haven’t seen in person.
i agree… not showy… the matte finish is what tones down the gold… and yet have you seen some of the cases used to protect these iPhones? THEY are showy…
I had a gold Slickwrap for my 4S until recently when it had finally started coming off in a few places, so I removed it. I hadn’t had that many compliments and questions about my iPhone since I had my original iPhone. I’ll place my order today!
That color looks great
Golden delicious.
I think they look quite nice. I hate the idea of a gold iPhone, it seems tacky, but actually those iPhones look quite good.
This certainly will satisfy all those who want an iPhone that looks like new iPhone, just to show off, and don’t really care what’s new on the inside.
This!
I’d still like to see a “graphite”/aluminum style iPhone 5s.
That’s what I was hoping for too so I’ll probably just end up getting the gold 5S
I’ve seen photos on some site showing a matte silver finish iPhone that does look like bare aluminum. According to rumors there will be four color options. White, Black, Gold and Silver.
When I click the “here”, it just opens this same page in a new tab.
Bgr.com
It also have the retina ipad mini
Where are the lines of text that have been under the “iPhone” logo on the back of every other iPhone ever made?
Anyone else notice that the flash is no longer round but oval?
Hmmmmmm
Dual LED flash. It will be oval on all the new models.
Instead of oval (egg-shaped), I’d call that shape either a rounded rectangle or a superellipse
If someone can make a certain color look good, its Apple! I would get one judging by those photos.
Now, if they would offer the choice of white or black fronts with each of the three back colors. I’m thinking gold and black would be nice, as would silver and black.
Black and gold combo would look sharp!
I’ll have to see it in person, but I think they should have used a tone more closer to the body finish, instead of the reusing the white. i.e. black/slate, white/aluminum, champagne/gold.
Sticking white on any color iOS device that isn’t black makes it look like they are pinching pennies relying on economy of scale rather than finding the “best” color to go with each anodized body.
I don’t see how that color is “too showy”. It looks rather subdued compared to a white iPhone.
I would like a gold iPad.
Is it just me or does that picture look like white iPhone 5’s under different lighting. I can make the matte finish on the back of my white iPhone 5 look “champagne” if I hold it just right. And the plastic strips at the top and bottom are clearly white in that picture, not champagne.
