Just imagine if your iPad was frozen in a block of ice and you couldn’t access the touchscreen. How frustrating that would be!
Over the winter a friend of mine was involved in a car accident and was hospitalized… Two weeks after he finally got access to his car and found his iPhone on the floor in a puddle of water and ice. He thought for sure he was going to need a new one… a day of drying, it worked perfectly. He couldn’t believe it.
Dropping it to 0ºF isn’t all that impressive. I’d like to know if I stick it in a deep freezer and drop the temperature towards absolute zero too see at what temperature does the iPad actually stop working. -20ºF? -40ºF? -100ºF? -200ºF? –300ºF? Absolute zero -459.67ºF?
Everybody knows at low enough temperature, the iPad would begin supper-conducting and the battery would last forever, but nobody would be able to beat Angry Birds.
I have one of those 0 kelvin freezers on order from Sears. Once I get it installed, I’ll check it out with my iPad II, just before I begin some superconductivity experiments with helium balloons. 🙂
