Analyst: Expect new Apple MacBook Pro models soon

“Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu is out with a research note today saying a check of the distribution channel suggests that MacBook Pro supplies are tight, and that usually means a product refresh is on the way,” Arik Hesseldahl reports for BusinessWeek.

“Combine that with the fact that Intel is shipping its next-generation mobile processor, codenamed Arrandale, to personal computer makers in large volumes,” Hesseldahl reports.

“Wu expects the new MacBook Pro to debut during the March quarter, or early in the June quarter at the latest,” Hesseldahl reports.

Wow, how vague can you get? These “analysts” have the most useless jobs ever. Do they just spend their days reading tech rumor sites? Wow, maybe I should become an analyst as well(!)

And why is so much importance given to these guys when most of the time they end up being completely wrong and are simply trying to manipulate the share price half the time.

Also, MDN, why does your 2.0 app keep asking for my location when I start it up?

Of course MBPs are due. The new chips have been out since the end of January, and Apple likes to spread out major product updates quarter by quarter. Next quarter is for the new iPhone and iPad. This quarter is for MBP updates.

My mid-2004 rev. PowerBook finally bit the big one after 5 and 1/2 years a few weeks ago. I performed CPR for a full week before giving up (much longer than the 10-20 minutes with my patients ) but to no avail.

Come on new MBP’s!!! The wait is killing me.

I am waiting for the new 15″ MBP. My 4.3 yr old PowerBook G4 is still working o.k. but I just don’t like its sluggish speed, noticed immediately after I bought it. I added more RAM to it, changed HD, so this fine working machine will soon go to my daughter after I get the replacement. Actually, she has kept on asking me when will the new MBP come out for months.

I expect the new MBP to come out next week: perhaps Apple will have 1 full month before the current fiscal quarter ends so it will be easy for finance people to calculate the company’s sale stats and quarterly profits. Otherwise they would wait until the end of March to release it.

This is all bullshit. These people should be shot for that vague ridiculousness. The new Macbooks will be out this month, guaranteed. When they do drop, and I know they will, you will be like “That idiot from that post was right..”.

I just sold my Macbook Pro 15″ $1,699 that I bought 2 months ago, for $1,450, and am currently using a 4 year old Dell Inspiron for the next few weeks in waiting.

I have been here for rumors, since Mac rumors began. I’ve got this down to a science. I predict the actual release @ March 20th, but if I had to choose earlier or later, I would say probably earlier.

Apple doesn’t give a FUCK if the old ones are selling like hotcakes (which they are). iPhone 3G sold like 200 per day average in the last week before the release of the 3GS. That’s only directly from Apple, imagine the THOUSANDS of 3G models sold on eBay, Buy, and other sites, not to mention by AT&T;, and then BAM, 3GS announced a mere 3 days before it’s release.

People will buy the new ones anyway. Watch eBay as well. Check how many MBP’s are up now, and check how many are up in about a week. Huge incline, guaranteed.

No one really knows, but we don’t really know the weather, and learn to predict based on patterns.

3 weeks people.
