Don’t know if there is a different between Snow Leopard versus previous versions but the Image Capture on SL has setting for specific device/camera.

    See the screen shots here

The Image Capture version is 6.0 (424)

  2. “The image capture application doesn’t have the option to disable just iPhone.”

On mine, if I only hook up iPhone and wait, I can click a dropdown and choose an application to open or none.

Then disconnect, plug in the D300 (mine is a D60, but I plug the SD into a card slot that reads it as the same), wait, and then Choose ‘Aperture’ as the program you want to open when connected.

My iPhone never opens a program. My D60 opens iPhoto.

The only reason I can think this may not work is if you are running Leopard or Tiger. I am running Snow Leopard.

    Try Cameras, a free preference pane plug-in @ http://www.flexibits.com/

You can set up different preferences for different cameras. My iPhone does NOT open any photo apps when connected, but my Sony α200 opens Aperture and my point-and-click opens iPhoto. Nice ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

    I’m using 10.5.8

    Works great.

  4. Try this:

    Home Folder>Applications>Image Capture

With or without your iPhone connected.

    Open this app
on the main screen lower left hand corner it reads:
    “Connecting this iPhone opens:

Use the pop up menu to select:
    “No application”

    Quit and reconnect iPhone.

    Hope this helps.

  5. To generally improve the snappiness of your iPhone, periodically restore factory settings (after doing a backup first) and restore the iPhone backup. This process essentially includes “defragmenting” your flash drive so it can be read faster, hence making it snappier. You can notice the snappiness when typing fast on the virtual keyboard and the keys can keep up with you, loading apps, no more sluggish animations, etc.

This software update may have improved snappiness in its own right, but doing a restore as mentioned above will improve snappiness as well.
