   Atom chips are cheaper than Core Duos and generate less revenue for Intel. So, revenue estimates can be down 23% while chip shipments can be flat or up slightly. We have seen PC shipments up the last couple months, as reported by several tracking firms. Of course, mfrs/oems could be running down inventories.

   Marco Marco,

   They did release a new machine, it’s a 17″ laptop. They’ve announce Snow Leopard, they are still moving forward. I for one will be buying a few newer machines as soon as Snow comes out because my older machines won’t be able to run it. Until then, the newer machines I have work fine as do my older ones.

   Flat? Maybe but flat sales is not the same as going down.

   Please, prove your prognosticating prowess by actually predicting something correctly. It’s been less than a full 7 days into the new year, and you already determined that apple will not be growing…WOW! I’m sure you have those lucky numbers, right?

    Apple sales are holding or growing.

    Considering the economic funk sweeping the world, Apple is better placed to ride this storm through to the future recovery than just about anyone. Money in the bank. No debt. Good product mix. Customer base with above average income. The major risk is its supply chain.
