Last November, the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gave VentureBeat an exclusive look at his technology plan.
“The full plan… contains several new proposals, including the appointment of technology czar called a Chief Technology Officer,” Matt Marshall reported for VentureBeat. “The CTO’s mandate would be quite different from the Cybersecurity czar appointed under the Bush Administration. Bush’s czar helped defend against cyberattacks. Obama’s CTO, by contrast, would ensure government officials hold open meetings, broadcast live webcasts of those meetings, and use blogging software, wikis and open comments to communicate policies with Americans, according to the plan.”

Today, Rob Enderle writes for TechNewsWorld, “I am breathing a long sigh of relief this week now that the election is over and it appears, for once, the most qualified candidate actually got the job. This seems to rarely happen, and my only remaining hope is Apple gets a clue from McCain’s loss and switches off the negative advertising and instead works on improving its own products.”
MacDailyNews Take: Apple is gaining share; taking it from Windows PCs and Enderle wants them to stop the campaign that is helping to fuel Mac market share gains. WhIle improvement is always welcome, Apple’s Macs are markedly superior to Windows PCs already. Apple’s ads are only negative if you’ve never used a Mac. Otherwise, they’re obviously based upon truths that users who know both platforms easily understand and recognize.
Enderle continues, “Speaking of improvement, one of the things on our new president’s to-do list is getting the U.S.’s first CTO, or chief technology officer… I ended up with four potential candidates: Al Gore, Lawrence Lessig, Vin Cerf, and Shane Robison.”

Seem like pretty important issues to most people I know. In my book voter fraud, befriending terrorists, hanging out with racists, are extremely important issues. And those are just the tip of the ice burg. This guy is bad and this cult that he has started is even worse. People are lazy and clueless and just listened to the mainstream media and whatever their friends told them to do. If you really knew the issues this guy would never be where he is now. I am 39 and I never thought I was racist. I live in Arizona and I have a black family across the street and also 2 houses down. I volunteer at school and church and deal with a lot of black families and children.

I live in the south. The only racists I see on a daily basis are black people who hate white people just because they are white. Since the election, the disrespect shown toward me by young black people has increased significantly. Enough, that now I will apply for my weapons permit as soon as possible.
I have never done anything to anyone of color, no matter what color they were. And we are all colors to most people now, don’t you know. But, because I am white, over fifty, and alive, I must be racist. That really ticks me off.
The nut case in this article is one of those who encourages racism, and revels in the chaos he creates in his own community. Instead of encouraging violence and anger, why not encourage fathers to marry their children’s mothers, education, getting rid of drug dealers, teaching young men and women they have value beyond the color of their skin, and encouraging parents to be parents instead of expecting the government to do it?

As a retired American, I was smart enough to move my money outside the US and into a protected account elsewhere before he was elected. Let me get this right. Over 90% of blacks vote for one candidate in an election. Around 50% of whites vote for the same candidate. Less than 10% of blacks for the the other candidate and around 50% of whites vote for the other candidate. AND the whites are the racists? That is a good one. If you look at the make-up of the same committee today, it includes prominent lawyers, bankers (including a member of staff from the bank [UBS] that employs McCain’s economics adviser) and an executive from BP America, the same company that employs Todd Palin. As for Mr. Ayers’ acts of terrorism, they happened when the President-Elect was EIGHT YEARS OLD.
Let’s compare this to Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense who had to practically dragged away kicking and screaming: he was instrumental in renewing US ties (suspended since the late 960s) with Baghdad culminating in shaking hands with the man on 20 December 1983. Rumsfeld was 51 at the time. The Republican Party – friend of mass murderers and megalomaniacs.
Or shall we analyse the links between the Reagan-era DoD and supplying arms to Iran in exchange for the release of hostages; of course, the monies recovered also helped to partially fund the Contradoras in Nicaragua.
