I don’t care how long the contract is, as long as I am happy with what I am getting… that includes service and device. Too many people put to much into the contract. You forget that you have to pay for the service one way or another…
All you do is make sure you have iTunes on your computer (current version from apple.com/itunes).
Then, connect the new iPhone to computer with the USB cable, and go through activation process selecting “current customer,” and “replace existing phone.” Your new iPhone will now be connected to your existing AT&T account without the need to extend your AT&T agreement.
Or, you can cancel your existing account and activate the new iPhone with the AT&T GoPhone Pay As You Go (prepaid) plan.

Sorry, DJ, but the % key is right there on the extended calculator. You’ll just have to find something else to complain about. 0.99 of the rest of us don’t need it…
