Ted Danson is joining Elizabeth Banks in the new Apple TV comedy series from creators Liz Heldens and Matt Ward, Deadline reports. The series is set to begin production in Los Angeles this year.
“In the as-yet-untitled project, fresh off a messy divorce, Heidi (Banks) sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. But when she stumbles into coordinating her father’s (Danson) retirement community sexcapades, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend’s perpetually single son.
In addition to Banks and Danson, the series regular cast also includes Rob Delaney.
Danson is currently the lead of the Netflix comedy series A Man on the Inside, which was renewed in February for a third season. His work on the new Apple series is not expected to affect his work on A Man on the Inside.
