Apple Music delivers concert listings with new Bandsintown and Ticketmaster Integrations

Apple Music

This week, the Apple Music streaming service announced deals with both Ticketmaster and Bandsintown. The integrations will make it significantly easier for Apple Music users to discover upcoming concerts and purchase tickets directly while browsing the app.

Ariel King and Chris Eggertsen for Billboard:

The former agreement will see Ticketmaster power Apple Music’s new concert discovery feature, designed to help users find nearby Ticketmaster-ticketed events based on their listening profiles. Ticketmaster concert listings will be integrated directly into the app and be visible in the homepage carousel, a dedicated concerts “tab & browse” section, and on artist pages. Users will also receive push notifications alerting them when their favorite artists are playing in their area. Each concert listing will link to Ticketmaster, allowing users to easily purchase tickets.

Meanwhile, the Bandsintown integration will see concert listings from the live event discovery platform appearing on Apple Music artist pages and in a new Concerts tab within the search feature.

Artists who publish their events via Bandsintown and connect their Apple Music profiles to the platform will have their upcoming concerts appear directly on the streaming service. Venues, festivals and promoters utilizing Bandsintown Pro will also see their events featured on the platform.
