Apple’s software engineers have begun internal testing of iOS 26.2.1, as indicated by entries in the MacRumors visitor logs — a consistently reliable signal for impending iOS releases.
The minor point update is expected to arrive sometime this week or next, most likely bringing bug fixes, performance tweaks, and/or important security patches.
This will come as a bridge release ahead of the more feature-focused iOS 26.3, which is currently in beta and slated for a public rollout later in January.
Joe Rossignol for MacRumors:
iOS 26.3 is expected to follow in late January, with key new features in that update so far including a new iPhone-to-Android transfer tool, Notification Forwarding for third-party smartwatches in the EU, and more.
