Reports of Apple’s potential partnership with Google’s Gemini sparked optimism among some Wall Street analysts, suggesting the iPhone maker was ramping up its AI offerings for customers. However, Richard Windsor, founder of Radio Free Mobile, argues that such a collaboration would hasten Apple’s fall in the AI race.

The idea that Apple would team up with Google to revamp Siri “is an indication of a worsening position,” Windsor wrote in a note Tuesday, as the partnership would likely erode Apple’s brand image and its emphasis on data security.
Apple is facing a lose-lose situation, Windsor believes. If Apple keeps Siri as is, it maintains its brand value but would be unable to compete with Google’s Android phones in a scenario where AI agents on smartphones become a common phenomenon.
However, if Apple pursues a Gemini partnership, it risks lagging behind in the AI race as well, “because a customized version of Gemini will always be somewhat behind the state of the art, given the time that will be required to take the latest flagship model and customize it,” according to Windsor…
[T]he best path forward for Apple to preserve data privacy and enhance its AI capabilities would be to pursue an acquisition of an existing AI platform, Windsor believes.

Gemini is seriously flawed. If you are using AI assistants like Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Samsung Bixby, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT, you are not safe—especially if you use all of them.
These AI assistants are infiltrating people’s lives, spying on them, manipulating their behavior, and making them less intelligent. Why bother reading books or studying when you can just ask a question? This mindset is problematic. Soon, people may find themselves unable to cross the street without taking a picture of a red light and asking an assistant for guidance.
At work with mission critical obscure tech issues of older equipment, Gemini is the only accurate one. Step by step instructions based on long gone manuals that Grok and ChatGBT fake their way through inaccurately. Otherwise I don’t trust my personal questions to them.
Apple should not partner with Google on AI. Google is the root of all technology evil!
