What’s new with Notes and Reminders in iOS 26

iOS 26 is a major update that brings a beautiful new design, intelligent experiences, and improvements to the apps users rely on every day.

Apple is revamping nearly all its native apps in iOS 26, including Notes and Reminders, with fresh features and design updates. While many changes focus on visuals, there are also valuable new functions you’ll want to explore.

Juli Clover for MacRumors:

The Notes and Reminders apps adopt the Liquid Glass design that’s been introduced in ‌iOS 26‌. Signs of Liquid Glass are more subtle in these apps than apps like Camera, but everything looks a little different.

Apple added a Siri Suggestions section to the Reminders app, which will bring up items that you might want to add to your to-do lists that are found in conversations in Mail and Messages. Reminders is able to suggest tasks automatically, taking in information from notes, grocery items in a list, and more.

You’ll also see Reminder suggestions in apps like Mail, and you can tap these to add a reminder without opening the Reminders app.

There are fewer updates in the Notes app in ‌iOS 26‌, but Apple made a couple of changes that will be useful to users.

Math Notes now supports creating 3D graphs using three-variable equations. An equation like z=sin(x2 + y2), for example, will create a ripple graph.

  1. I have immediately turned off all Apple “suggestions” wherever I see them. Always intrusive and never relevant. Same with the “priority” mail messages which seem to highlight the least important emails possible like an Amazon purchase receipt.

  2. I’m avoiding “upgrading” to newer iPhone from my current iPhone 14 to avoid the lunacy of AI. I don’t need any of the useless fluff that is on offer. I have a brain that is quite capable of responding to emails, composing my shopping list and responding to messages without assistance. Talk about dumbing down humanity!

  3. To be honest, anyone who appreciates carefully chosen content and enjoys reading might find it interesting. Students can also benefit greatly from this content. For students who struggle with academic deadlines, this is a terrific attempt to provide a variety of books and audiobooks as well as study tools in one location. Sites such as Apple Books can offer excellent resources, such as research and reference assignment writing assistance.
