A leaked image from Apple insider Majin Bu showcases the repositioned Apple logo on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. The image clarifies a key design detail: the logo, while still centered, aligns with the glass panel rather than the phone’s overall center, appearing less unconventional than initially speculated.

Michael Burkhardt for 9to5Mac:
One of the less talked about design elements of the new iPhone 17 Pro design is the fact that Apple will be shifting to a two-tone design of sorts, with an all aluminum frame and camera bump. However, for wireless charging, MagSafe, and wireless passthrough – there’ll still be a piece of glass.
It’s certainly still an odd design choice, and it’ll take time to get used to. However, reputable leaker Sonny Dickson backed up the claim shortly after Majin Bu shared it initially – so it seems quite likely that it’ll pan out.

What do I think? I think that if they use LiquidMetal instead of aluminum, my retirement date can get moved up. I don’t expect it after all this time, but a guy can dream…
Why do you think Apple’s overhyped casting technology will make you rich? It hasn’t proven itself superior yet, and old technology doesn’t get more attractive with time. Meanwhile other technologies are improving.
Most manufacturers have turned to additive manufacturing for cheap low strength parts, and machining for high precision, high strength parts.
Castings are fine for big crude applications. That is not what Apple makes. Even supposedly high precision LM could not produce the quality desired. Castings are parts of mediocre strength and precision ; plus almost all of them require some finish machining. So, not cost effective for most high quality designs compared to CNC from billet. Apple hopefully has moved on.
Maybe you could invest in polyethylene recycling or something.
It looks like it is ensconced in a giant ugly case.
Speaking of Liquid Metal…the long-hyped ticker seems to have woken from its slumber?
Up 180%, the past yr! I was the one napping.
Per design, I’d guess previous design-minds would say; too busy?
