Apple aims to use generative AI to accelerate custom chip design for its devices, according to Johny Srouji, senior vice president of hardware technologies. Srouji shared these plans last month in a speech in Belgium, where he received an award from Imec, a leading semiconductor R&D group collaborating with major chipmakers.

In the speech, a recording of which was reviewed by Reuters, Srouji outlined Apple’s development of custom chips from the first A4 chip in an iPhone in 2010 to the most recent chips that power Mac desktop computers and the Vision Pro headset.
He said one of the key lessons Apple learned was that it needed to use the most cutting-edge tools available to design its chips, including the latest chip design software from electronic design automation (EDA) firms.
The two biggest players in that industry – Cadence Design Systems and Synopsys – have been racing to add artificial intelligence to their offerings.
“EDA companies are super critical in supporting our chip design complexities,” Srouji said in his remarks. “Generative AI techniques have a high potential in getting more design work in less time, and it can be a huge productivity boost.”

Clearly, GenAI has a major use in chip design.
Now, a little history:
Juneteenth commemorates the day when black individuals found out that the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, had signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing them from the physical bondage of the Democrat Party.
It was two years later, on July 4th 1867, that 150 of those same black men met in Houston and established the Republican Party of Texas. The Democrats, in response, established the Ku Klux Klan.
Today, the Democrats are economically enslaving black people and have turned inner city communities into crime-ridden modern plantations of welfare and economic dependence.
Juneteenth is a celebration of the very reason why the Republican Party was established in 1854: the abolition of slavery.
While most of your posts make sense, this one is exceptionally STUPID. Lincoln destroyed America and turned it into the imperial-federal monster it is today. Robert E. Lee (who opposed the war) was 1000x the man that creep Abe was. Compensated emancipation over a generation like in England would have made sense, instead the country was ripped apart and we were poisoned forever with racial animosity. And God damn the Republican Party, the party of war, corporate tax cuts and mass migration. If Trump goes to war with Iran he’ll deserve his infamous place in history.
Firsty does NOT make sense most of the time. He is a classic believer in “might makes right” philosophy and has been a drinker of Unitary Executive Theory koolaid for as long as he’s haunted this supposed tech forum.
Look at a map of the USA today. The most welfare dependent states and the ones with the highest consumer debt and lowest average education and career achievement, sadly, are all in the south.
If Lincoln hadn’t “destroyed” the USA by rejecting the claims of slaveholding states that they could freely secede and continue their blatantly amoral economic and cultural systems, then the USA today would still be a collection of small states, looking to Europe for inspiration and trade, and the majority of people living in the USA — immigrants taken in by force against their will — would still have little to no rights. It is only with justice, and with scale, and with common currency and language, that the USA was able to become a superpower. Now we’re blowing our lead because it’s more important for some people to worship T1 phone peddlers than it is to pay off accumulated debt from BOTH corrupt parties, to properly educate children without AI hallucinations to national standards, or to maintain capable healthcare systems with preventative medical services for all, or for the USA to maintain honest relations with allies. The constant lies and gorilla chest-beating don’t make America great. Bombing foreign nations because you don’t believe in diplomacy and international nuclear inspections is really pathetic. But hey, at least the koolaid drinkers are totally OK now with the pain of high consumer taxes, high gas prices, welfare for farmers, and bloated deficit budgets, political attacks of the independent Fed, plummeting US dollar valuation, as well as off-budget mini wars. That’s all super great. Your kids are definitely going to thank you.
It may be beneficial to add that “Identity Politics” is a progression of this matter and one party embraces it with conviction, but many consider it humane/just.
