AirPods Pro 3 will get redesign, upgraded ANC, new Apple H3 chip

A new low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier offer richer bass and crystal-clear sound, while a new extra small ear tip delivers an even better fit.
Apple’s current AirPods Pro

The AirPods Pro 3 are anticipated to launch in September with the iPhone 17 series, featuring three new enhancements: Apple’s new H3 chip, a redesign, and enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

Ryan Christoffel for 9to5Mac:

AirPods Pro’s H1 chip stuck around for three years before AirPods Pro 2 introduced the H2. And now, when AirPods Pro 3 arrive it will have been another three year wait for the H3 chip… We’ve also seen the H2 power several new feature updates over the past couple years, so the H3 will no doubt unlock plenty of its own new features when it arrives. My personal hope: improved battery life.

[Bloomberg News’ Mark] Gurman also reports that AirPods Pro 3 are getting “a new design.” That’s unfortunately all of the info we have right now on the redesign.

AirPods Pro 3’s new ANC will reportedly be ‘much better’ than the existing feature, no doubt powered by the new capabilities of the H3 chip.

  2. Since getting my Ray Ban Metas with prescription lenses my AirPods Pro 2 use has gone waaay down. They’re great for notifications because there’s nothing in your ear so it never becomes uncomfortable. I mostly use my AirPods Pro 1 and only when working out since sweat over time seems to cause issues and since this is already a replacement pair for a previous audio defect I don’t want to risk it with the 2s. Apple really has to figure out glasses or some other discreet device you wear near your ears that you can have on for hours on end. The Metas are my favorite tech product of recent years. I also have an Apple Vision Pro which is awesome but it’s for at-home, primarily-Mac extended display use only.
