The hit Apple TV+ show, “Ted Lasso,” is set to come back for a fourth season, this time shifting its focus to the establishment of AFC Richmond’s women’s club.
MacStories‘ Sigmund Judge announced on X that the upcoming season will center around the women’s team rather than the men’s team from past seasons. Additionally, Judge revealed that filming is scheduled to start in May or June 2025 in London.

Marko Zivkovic for AppleInsider:
In August 2024, a report suggested that Warner Bros. had picked options for actors playing key roles in Ted Lasso. The list included Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift, with Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt expected to be reached out to at a later time.
It’s still unclear whether Jason Sudeikis’ character will make a return, as the actor was reported to have been satisfied with the original ending of the show. He has expressed no interest in revisiting his role, however, cameos are always possible.
A few months later, in October 2024, “Season 4” of Ted Lasso appeared in a production database maintained by the Film & Television Industry Alliance, further corroborating rumors of a fourth season.
MacDailyNews Take: Makes sense, as the concept of an AFC Richmond women’s club was mentions in the final moments of the season three finale of Ted Lasso.

makes sense in that it’s a way to deal with Jason Sudeikis’ absence from the show.
question is, without him, and all the special sauce of what they had as a cast, will it devolve into soap opera dreck, or be able to carry the torch?
the last season already lost some of the charm.
thank you
Without Jason, this show will not survive. Look at The Office without Michael Scott. Would be like Alf without Alf. Or Mork and Mindy without Robin.
There will be cameos – only to try and save this show.
