Apple CEO Cook invites Red Cross donations to assist California fire relief

Following its own donation to support California fire recovery, Apple is now encouraging its U.S. customers to contribute to the American Red Cross’s Southern California Wildfires Relief fund directly through the App Store or Apple Music apps.

Tim Cook via X:

Our hearts go out to all impacted by the ongoing devastation in LA. In addition to Apple’s donation, we’re making it easy to support recovery efforts. If you’re in the US, just open the App Store or Apple Music & click to donate to help make a difference. https://apple.co/southerncaliforniawildfires

  1. Cook,

You and your virtue-signaling braindead ilk in The People’s Republic of California voted for this. You voted for DEI over competency.

Pay for your own stupidity for once. Maybe you’ll finally learn something.

  2. California has not built a new major water reservoir since 1979.
The state is spending millions to REMOVE existing water infrastructure.
Water cuts to farmers and citizens over a 3-inch fish led to empty reservoirs.
Removing grazing, controlled burns, and management left California an unnatural tinder box.
California changed its wildfire approach from expert forest management to militarized fire suppression.
They knew it was coming, and yet the city was unprepared.
In 2023, 13,909 “homeless fires” were started in Los Angeles alone, almost double the number in 2020.
ESG/climate policies and DEI hiring prioritized over effectiveness and competency.
State politicians take donations from at-fault power companies while fire victims remain unpaid.

  3. CA needs to be earnestly asked–like almost every earnest liberal govt–what success have your policies wrought? First, because they embrace central planning, the indi becomes less respected/important. More essentially, it kills incentive. Humans need/thrive and are inclined to exhibit a great % of EXCELLENCE when truly incentivized and much less so when not.

Speaking of incentives: Since 2019, California has spent about $24 billion on homelessness, but in this five-year period, homelessness increased by about 30,000, to more than 181,000. Most can/would/will look at this stat and say, “duh,” but the earnest liberal would give a shoulder shrug and say, “we need to draw more taxes, or need a special bond for a nice camp for those experiencing life w/o a roof.”

The time must be getting close where the earnest liberal says wtf, I guess this doesn’t make sense. Then ask, have the CA policies dropped the earth’s temp at all? If they blame the fires on AGW, ask them, if you were a fire, what would you do in 75mph winds and are the winds–that have their own name–relatively new to these parts?
