Chinese Communist Party Commerce Minister Wang Wentao expressed support for Apple’s continued growth in China during a meeting with CEO Tim Cook on Friday. This sentiment echoed similar statements made by China’s Minister for Industry and Information Technology earlier in the week.

Reuters:

China is willing to help return Sino-U.S. economic and trade ties to a healthy and stable track of development through regular exchanges between government and enterprises, Wang added.

China will further optimize the business environment and continue to provide quality services for foreign enterprises, Wang said, but also told Cook that the highlighting of national security “is not conducive to normal economic and trade exchanges.”

  1. apple seems to be in love with ccp. they give china access to all the code on the iphone which could make it easier for them to find vulnerabilities they could use and they limit airdrop to 10 minutes in china since protesters where using it offline and china could not monitor the traffic with the great firewall of china. apple also removes vpn’s from apple store there. maybe tim cook will move to china after he retires and become a communist.
