iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max comes in four stunning finishes: black titanium, natural titanium, white titanium, and desert titanium.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max initially had a September 20th shipping date, but high preorder demand quickly pushed it back a week.

William Gallagher for AppleInsider:

As preorders opened around the world, the shipping dates for all iPhone 16 models plus the were listed as being on September 20. That’s the date Apple announced shipping would begin, but within 18 minutes, the site was reporting dates slipping into the following week.

It appears that natural titanium was only last year’s fashion favorite, because both the entry level 256GB and high end 1TB configurations in that color remained available for shipping on September 20 for around ten minutes longer than the others.

Dates are changing rapidly, but with those first 18 minutes, the 1TB desert titanium iPhone 16 Pro Max was showing as shipping in 5-7 days. The white and black 1TB editions went immediately to 7-10 days.

MacDailyNews Take: When you spend circa $800-$1,000 for an iPhone every few years, you might as well spring for the flagship and get all of the benefits that only iPhone offers.

  1. I think we call all agree that the experiment of having people log in to post is a complete failure. After all, 80% of the reason this site was interesting was because of the posts (even ignoring all the flame-bait that appeared). Perhaps it’s time for MDN to reconsider.
FWIW, I set up a subscription. Haven’t really figured out how to read and post via substack; thus far all I’ve really gotten is a bunch of ads to subscribe to MDN plus a whole bunch of spam from substack. Not exactly what I signed up for.

  2. Wow, that’s wild about the iPhone 16 Pro Max shipping date slipping so fast! Clearly, demand is through the roof. I’m also really curious about the new ‘desert titanium’ finish – sounds pretty unique. Thanks for the heads-up on these details!
