Elon Musk’s X rolls out worldwide support for passkeys on iOS

Twitter X

After debuting for U.S. iOS users in January, Elon Musk’s X is rolling out support for passkeys, a new and more secure login method compared with traditional passwords, to all iOS users worldwide.

X Safety via X:

Update: Passkeys is now available as a login option for everyone globally on iOS! Try it out.

Passkeys are constructed using public key cryptography from the WebAuthentication (or “WebAuthn”) standard. When you register an account, your device generates a unique key pair – one public and one private – for each account. The public key is shared and stored on X, while the private key remains on your device. Your passkey is never shared with X to ensure maximum security, and further reducing the likelihood of unauthorized account access.

Once you are enrolled in passkey on your device, you can log in to your account by choosing the passkey option instead of entering a traditional password. Your device will securely connect with X using the stored public key to authenticate your identity.

X encourages all iOS users to enroll in passkey for the following benefits:

• Seamless log in experience: Passkeys make signing in easy and convenient. Once you are set up, you can use your passkey to log in to your account across different devices without having to remember or reset a forgotten password.

• Advanced security: Passkeys provide a stronger level of security for your account. Since they are uniquely generated by your device, they are less vulnerable to security threats such as fraudulent, deceptive, or unauthorized attacks.

    1. He’d have to also fire 50% of Apple’s slacker “workforce”. It’s not worth Elon’s time. Cybertrucks, Robo-Taxis and rocket ships are FAR more exciting than iPhones and iPads.

    2. YES! Been saying the same for years.

DEPROGRAM the woke company, kick the Apple kiddies in their keysters to earn their paychecks and REMOVE Democrat ADVOCACY GROUP politics from the Apple Agenda.

Fire Cook and in one day, Elon will walk into the rainbow offices carrying a kitchen sink and the CHANGE will begin…

  1. Tim will object b/c Musk advocates for a certain type of speech that’s called free. Though not as voracious as GOOG and META, Cook sides with the type NPR advocates.

Musk’s work is akin to splitting atoms. Apple’s work if fine tuning emoji libraries and making sure the EarBud bluetooth-iPh connection is cutting edge. No idiot would make such a downward move. Musk, obviously isn’t an idiot and will one day look (“downward”) to Apple from Mars.
