Apple may have “plans to incorporate a display that changes depending on which hand the user is holding the device,” Abigail Beall reports for The Daily Mail. “A patent filed by Apple shows how extra sensors could be used to detect how the phone is held.”
“The patent is named ‘Electronic Devices with Hand Detection Circuitry,'” Beall reports. “It includes new hardware feature for extra accuracy, including touch, proximity, fingerprint and motion sensors.”
“‘An electronic device may include a touch-sensitive display and sensor circuitry that detects whether a user’s right hand or left hand is being used to operate the touch-sensitive display,’ the patent application says,” Beall reports. “Icons and virtual buttons could move around on the touch-sensitive display based on which hand is being used to touch the screen.”
