Apple’s next-gen ‘iPhone 7’ to be waterproof, sources claim

“Despite rumors to the contrary, the iPhone 7 will be actually waterproof,” Chan Zhuang writes for M.I.C. Gadget. “Rumors about the appearance of full protection against ingress of water and dust into the iPhone 7 body go [back to] the second half of 2015, but [have] only now managed to prove a reliable source.”

“Our sources leaked that the iPhone 7 will really enjoy the fully waterproof, capable of withstanding immersion under water, as well as being in a very dusty environment,” Zhuang writes. “If the corporation engineers from Cupertino will not face unexpected difficulties, the smartphone will be protected under the standard IP68.”

“At the same time,” Zhuang writes, “to improve the waterproof properties of the iPhone 7, Apple’s engineers [may remove] the physical ‘Home’ button.”
