“HBO Now has gained about 800,000 paying subscribers since it launched on Apple TV in April, contributing significantly to the 2.7 million net new HBO customers last year,” The AP reports.
“The figure was revealed by HBO CEO Richard Plepler in a conference call following the release of parent Time Warner Inc.’s quarterly earnings results,” AP reports.
In April, HBO Now became available to Apple device users with bout 2,000 titles. The service costs $14.99 per month.

MacDailyNews Take: That’s about 100,000 subscriber additions per month since April and nearly one third of all of HBO’s subscriber adds over the time period. Not too bad!
