A view into the new Apple TV

“The new Apple TV debuted at an Apple media event in San Francisco on September 9, 2015, is expected to go on sale by the end of October this year.,” Shirley Pelts writes for Market Realist. “The Walt Disney Company’s popular console game Infinity is also set to make a debut on Apple TV. Disney will release a special Star Wars version of its Infinity game for Apple TV that will contain an exclusive game controller for playing the game. However, the game will also be compatible with the new Apple TV remote. The Disney Infinity game will use Bluetooth technology to read the Star Wars toy figurines. Apple TV also offers a multiple player gaming experience for up to four people, and another Apple device like iPhone or iPod touch can act as a gaming controller. It also allows a user to pick up and continue a game played on iPhone on the new Apple TV.”

“The new remote is far sleeker as compared to its predecessors. Apple has done away with a host of buttons in a traditional remote control, revamping it with fewer buttons and a touchpad that lets the user swipe through apps and click on menus. The new remote is also equipped with a microphone button to activate Apple’s voice-based assistant, Siri,” Pelts writes. “The remote uses a Bluetooth technology to connect with the Apple TV instead of the traditional infrared one. This means that there is no need for a user to point the remote at the Apple TV for the TV to respond to user commands. The new remote can also be used for playing games by tilting it sideways or holding it horizontally.”
