I only bought the iPhone 6s because it’s available in rose gold
“I don’t need a new phone. My 11 month old iPhone 6 Plus works perfectly fine, easily getting me through a day’s worth of work without any issues. The camera is the best I’ve ever had on a phone. The battery life is still amazing, usually ending up with about 20 percent left after about 16 hours off the charger,” Micah Singleton writes for The Verge. “But none of that stopped me from buying an iPhone 6S Plus last week.”
Singleton writes, “Now, I didn’t buy it because of [any of the] new features… I bought it because Apple made a version in rose gold.”
“Right now, rose gold is in, and as The Verge’s Luxury Director (a facetious title bestowed upon to me by our esteemed leader Nilay Patel that has yet to be challenged), it is my duty to be up on all things elegant and fashionable. Plus it looks damn good,” Singleton writes. “Just look at it. It’s majestic.”
Apple iPhone 6s Plus in Rose Gold anodized 7000 Series aluminum
MacDailyNews Take: We prefer iPhones with the traditional black face, so that it disappears and what’s onscreen is all that matters. We find the white-faced iPhones detract from the display. Since spending a year with white-faced gold iPhone 5s units, we’ve gone with Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus (and, soon, iPhone 6s Plus) in order to have the black face. If other colors also offered black faces, we’d be sorely tempted (Rose Gold aluminum certainly looks fine with a black face as evidenced in Apple Watch Sport; see below). As it is now, Apple makes our choice easy, as they only give us one option: Space Gray.
