“Apple’s two iPhone 6 models have been extremely successful so its been no surprise to hear that the company is apparently cooking up two successors for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus,” Adam Mills writes for Gotta Be Mobile.
“If you’re struggling with the decision to buy the iPhone 6 Plus now or wait for the iPhone 6s Plus, know that you probably don’t have too much longer to wait for Tim Cook and company to announce their brand new products,” Mills writes. “We haven’t seen an exact date emerge just yet but it’s clear that the wheels are in motion. A recent report from The Wall Street Journal states that Apple is asking its supplies to prepare for an absolutely massive iPhone 6s release in 2015. ”
“Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus display will reportedly come with at least one major difference,” Mills writes. “The company’s Force Touch technology that’s found on board the Apple Watch and new MacBook. Force Touch allows the device to detect the difference between a tap and a hard press. In turn, this opens up new features that wouldn’t be possible without it. For instance, it could let iPhone 6s users push on the display harder to get access to a secondary menu item or action, add to controls for games or simplify access to some app options. It’s an intriguing feature… [additional] rumors point to a move from an 8MP sensor up to a 12MP camera sensor. The camera might also be able to record in 4K.”

MacDailyNews Take: We love our iPhone 6 Plus (and our iPhone 6) units, but the day iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available, we’ll hardly ever touch them again – they’ll be sold or passed along to family members. It’s weird: One day you love your iPhone and the next day it’s being wiped and cast off. Progress!
We did pull one of our original iPhones out of the drawer and charged it up after it sat for several years. It works perfectly! As with our Macintosh 128K units, those original iPhones will never be sold or given away!
