Chicks dig Apple’s flagship iPhone 6 Plus

“The phablet is all the rage. Half smartphone – half tablet, Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus is on fire,” Mark Reschke writes for T-GAAP. “According to Carolina Milanesi, of Kantarworldpanel, iPhone 6 Plus gobbled up 44% of the worldwide phablet market during the first quarter of 2015.”

“China is largely responsible for the overall iPhone 6 Plus consumption, but the U.S. and Europe are also playing an important role. Who is buying all these quasi-tablet/smartphone Pluses?” Reschke writes. “Women.”

“Cultural differences aside, universally women carry purses, and generally speaking, men do not,” Reschke writes. “This is not to say guys are not purchasing iPhone 6 Plus, because they are. Bigger guys, the elderly, or fat-fingered folks tend to gravitate towards the Plus for ease of use… The market once thought to be a lock for Samsung has proven to be nothing more than a placeholder until Apple became engaged. Since Apple has entered the large screen smartphone race, it is clearer than ever before that women, whether in business or elsewhere, have always wanted iPhone, and now they are getting them, in plus size.”
