MacDailyNews Take: Yeah, um, that’s quite the weapon, especially for what otherwise sounds like a run-of-the-mill mugging. Could’ve been a BB gun.

  1. 2AM, Club, AK47… Seems witness could have seen a bazooka.

Only thing thieves get is a lousy wallet. However this guy might not have turned on security for his iPhone so they got that too.

IMHO – He should have been home, at 2AM.

      1. That illustration’s more accurate than some of the misled “it’s the evil gun’s fault” stuff. If you’re at all curious, check out the CDC or the FBI Uniform Crime Reports for the facts. Stupid people do stupid things despite existing laws prohibiting such behavior. And it is Philthadelphia, after all.

      1. Oh in America I am not aloud to have an opinion? In martial arts one of the things they teach you is to know your situation. 2AM, Club, Parking Garage, Philadelphia, is one of those situations where it would be wise to be some place else, or some time else. Just saying. It’s an opinion, which I am allowed to have and voice. STFU my ass. You are damn right, this is not the Soviet Union. Thank you very much.

        1. It came off as awfully judgmental, as though anyone who goes out to a club at 2AM is asking to be robbed & deserves what they get. Perhaps that wasn’t your intent, but that’s how a lot of readers will take it.

        1. And sadly, the problem wasn’t spelling. It passes that test. The problem is that there’s no such thing as an intelligent grammar checking program in existence. (No, Grammarian would not have helped. It’s clueless about context).

    1. Guns are a pointless answer to peace, but a good answer to assault. If a hippie is at your door waving flowers around and spouting love poems, you have no need for a gun. If a lunatic is at your door waving a gun around and spouting love obscenities, then may I recommend chome 44 magnum.

    2. My folks live half a mile off a gravel road. My Dad meets all visitors after dark with a shot gun. Drunks, meth heads, thieves, all come out after dark. The dogs usually stop them in the driveway, but the gun makes a point that a bat or a dog never will. Not to mention they’re vital to farming, especially when a coyote or fox wanders into the yard. It’s not about peace, it’s about protection.

        1. Keep telling yourself that. It will ease you conscious when you have a bad outcome. By the way, what harm do the coyotes do to you?

You and your family have learned to be scared of everything and create death and destruction as a result of using guns.

        2. You have been brainwashed and you don’t know what you are talking about. You are just regurgitating some communist talking head college professor who was dressed in liberals clothing. Deception has crept upon you and you don’t even know it.

        3. Do you know anything about Communist regimes? They almost always use guns excessively to control the population. The second worst offenders are the US of A and their militaristic control of the world and their own population. Check a non-US source for your history.

  2. What, no discharge of weapons? No shooting? No one killed? Just robbed, the guy wasn’t like tortured or anything? Gee I hope they at least spied on the guy for a while, otherwise it will be viewed as a very unpatriotic robbing.

    1. I’d say no.. A decent firearm costs more than an iPhone.
I only have 3 firearms that cost less than my iPhone 6.
2 are .22’s and one I bought with a group buy. (Mosin nagant)

  3. To be host – I hope the police are NOT looking for suspects but rather for the perpetrators.

In any case – the robbery definitely was not performed by suspects but by real proven thieves. 🙂
