“I remember the days when I’d get a new CD, rip it to my iTunes library, connect my click-wheel iPod, and have the music sync in less than a minute,” Kirk McElhearn writes for Macworld. “Ah, the good old days were so much better…”
“Now, syncing an iOS device — iPhone, iPad, or iPod — is too often an ordeal. And it is because it’s become untrustworthy,” McElhearn writes. “Will the sync work at all or will your content disappear and be transformed into something that fills the amorphous “Other” category in iTunes’ capacity bar. Will all of your content sync or just your music, or music, or apps?”
“In its current state, iTunes syncing is broken and it can only be fixed by Apple,” McElhearn writes. “Here are some of the most common sync problems, and, in some cases, solutions or workarounds to get media files onto your iOS device.”

I can’t tell you the numerous issues i’ve had with Syncing my apple devices. It has been extremely frustrating, and yes, I have gone to their website logged questions and at one point even called their support line to no HELP. The interesting thing is that I have a CLASSIC iPod that Syncs without any problems, ever. But anything current, iPad air 2, iPhone 6, iPod touch is a huge problem. my devices sync, and then all of a sudden the sync cancels, showing ‘canceling sync’. iTunes says my iPad has 1 gb available when i look at settings in the iPad itself and it says I have 32 gb available.
iTunes match is a whole other story. In theory, it’s a great idea, but put in practical use it’s not.
Part of of me is thrilled that i’m not the only one having issues with syncing all my devices. All i own are apple products so it should be seamless right?
APPLE, PLEASE FIX THIS
Um, dooya think this might be because iTunes 12 is a disaster? Upgrading from 11 has been a huge regret for me. Endless headaches. Who the heck is responsible for this piece of junk?
I won’t argue about iTunes 12 being a mess, but iTunes has been a mess for years. 12 has the same bugs but just a new and more confusing interface.
I get this a lot with audio books. It tells me the sync is complete, I disconnect the device and ALL THE BOOKS ARE GONE. I have to restart it twice, thrice to get the damned content onto the device. It pisses me off beyond words. When did software get so shitty!!!!
