‘No chance’ of finding an iPhone 6 Plus unit to purchase at carriers tomorrow, sources say

“We just spoke with multiple sources at carrier stores and authorized Apple retailer partner locations, and the straight up fact is it’s going to harder to find an iPhone 6 Plus tomorrow than a Turbo Man,” Jonathan S. Geller reports for BGR.

“We are told that stores have been receiving shipments all throughout the day, and out of all the new iPhone 6 models received, typically only about 2-3% are iPhone 6 Plus units, and in only one color,” Geller reports. “There is ‘no chance’ of finding an iPhone 6 Plus unit to purchase tomorrow, we were told.”

  1. Stopped by the local (Germantown, TN) Apple Store this morning at 1100 and there were already half a dozen folks lined up in chairs outside the door, each hoping to snag an iPhone 6/Plus when they go on sale at 0800 TOMORROW morning! That’s real dedication…or something!

    1. Saddle Creek Apple Store in East Jesus (Germantown/East Shelby County, TN) where they roll up the sidewalks at 8 o’clock. 4th Apple Store opened back in the day. Memphis needs a new Apple Store OUTSIDE Germantown.

My local store as well, but the FedEx people have mine (Space Gray 16GB iPhone 6) already from AT&T ready to go.

    1. Pre-ordering did you no good if you wanted the 6 Plus. Demand basically crashed the internet. By the time I could get through, shipping time was mid-October, so I was just like, fuck this…I’ll wait in line. Last time I waited in line was for the iPhone 3G in 2008.

  2. My pre-ordered 64Gb Silver/White iPhone 6 PLUS left Harrisburg PA this morning at 3:55am via UPS heading to me! It won’t be here until sometime in the afternoon, but at least it’s on its way!

  3. Just watch.

Tomorrow, as droves of people leave stores iPhoneless, Apple haters will be saying, “Of course there are shortages. Apple creates artificial shortages for publicity.”

Next week, when weekend sales are announced: “Oh, that’s because Apple is stuffing the channel. They didn’t actually _sell_ that many.”

  4. My local Bell Canada carrier has my pre-order for the 6 Plus, and already they’re telling me no guarantees (even worse, it’s unlikely), since Apple is only shipping a fraction of Bell’s pre-orders. I’m still hopeful, but this will be the first time ever that i didn’t get one on launch day. I get a new model every year.

  5. I made cardboard mockups to be sure which size I wanted. Was glad I did. iPhone 6 Plus, great as it is, was too big for my pocket…and…I also didn’t want to give up one-handed operation.

  6. I may wait until this initial batch is sold to pick up a 6, after all the possible glitches caused by manufacturing ills are identified by the new users, and ironed out in China. But, no Apple Retail here in Green Bay means a drive to Milwaukee this weekend to see ’em! (in their native habitat, not a >shudder< carrier store)… lol

  7. I called my local Best Buy, T-Mobile, Staples and Radio Shack regarding the availability of the 6 Plus on Friday. I was laughed at by two of the stores and was told by one that the earliest availability would be at the end of October.

I think demand is absolutely unbelievable. Check out the line in Munich Germany!!! (warning – video quality sucks)

  8. I’m at the Soquel CA Best Buy at 12:48 AM and am still the only one here. Trying to take advantage of the $50 coupon they offered in the Spring if you buy your next cell phone from them before year’s end. I only need them to receive ONE 128GB Space Gray 6 Plus for me to be a winner. The did not allow 6 Plus preorders at Best Buy. So here Insit alone with my ATT LTE iPad mini Retina hoping for the best 7 hours 8 minutes from now. I’ m shocked I’m the only one here!
