“The iPad Air isn’t just a waifish version of last year’s tablet. Inside, it features the company’s new 64-bit A7 processor — the very same one you’ll find in the iPhone 5s — along with storage capacities of up to 128 GB,” Christina Bonnington writes for Wired. “It’s an immensely powerful tablet. And while the battery is smaller (32.9 WHr versus the previous generation’s 42.5), it still manages to crank out the same 10-hours plus of battery life.”
“You can definitely get that 10 hours of battery life Apple promises, and that’s watching HD video streams. If you’re doing lower-intensity tasks like web browsing and reading ebooks, that battery will stretch even further,” Bonnington writes. “For those that use their tablets just an hour or two a night, you’ll likely get a week or more of use before needing to recharge.”
Bonnington writes, “Apple’s latest tablet, as it exists, is definitely one of the best (if not the best) tablet out there right now. However, I can’t help but feel that it could be even better. Where’s my TouchID? [sic] How about a bigger, better camera on this late 2013 tablet? I suppose this opens the opportunity for an iPad Pro, with such premium features. Or just next year’s Air. But I can’t help but want them now.”
