“People familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday October 22,” John Paczkowski reports for AllThingsD.
“The focal point of the gathering will be the latest updates to the company’s iPad line,” Paczkowski reports, “but the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told.”

Great stuff. I’ve been holding off on an iPad purchase since early summer. Just a little bit longer 🙂
but you could have been enjoying your iPad all this time. I’ve had a blast with my iPad mini. and if they have a Retina display or some other fancy schmancy improvement, i’ll sell on eBay and be on my merry way.
Let me know if you sell it, I’ll buy it 🙂
I have too Dave….i am sure it will be well worth the wait!
First world problems:
I’ve got a $300 Apple gift card but cannot decide what to spend it on. iPhone 5S? Can’t pull the trigger, not since I already have the iPhone 5. I’ll save that upgrade for the iPhone 6.
iPad Mini with Retina?

Where is the new wow device ?
An iPad mini with a Retina display and the A7 chip is more than enough wow for me.
the wow device is when the iPad mini retina kicks the ass out of the Windows crap tablet in the marketplace, SOAK IT IN, SOAK IT IN :D:D
I hope you’re being sarcastic Raymond. We’re talking about computer devices from Apple, not the entertainment industry.
It’s called a kill joy zapper and it’s coming to the kill joy ilk soon.
You mean like a flying car or portable holographic emitter from the 29th century?
New AppleTV too, please!
That just got an OS update. That’s probably about it for this year. But vacuous rumors will no doubt persist.
Honestly, the apple tv doesn’t need a hardware update as just more programming access. ABC, showtime, NBC, fox. these boys need to get on board and that is what will make ATV so much better. The only update i see is 4k, but thats got another 2 to 3 years before people start making content in 4k consistently and possibly something to do with gaming…but when these new Mfi controllers come out we might already have that gaming answer.
Scratch what I said. Wireless -ac. I kind of what that in my apple tv, so maybe it could use an update.
I thought there were to be three events this fall?with Mac Pro being star of the third.
I’m not sure Apple has a wow product this year. I sure hope they do.
Why are you here?
An A7 equipped iPad 5 doesn’t wow you? Are you on a morphine drip?
… And the updated MacBook Pro please!
Oh and OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks as well!
And a new display too
30″ display. The 27″ is nice, bigger is nicer. Maybe something even bigger still. Just don’t do a 55″ low res touch screen like those poor saps at Fox are being force fed, yuk.
Couldn’t agree more! Really hoping to see a new MacBook Pro Retina.
With an internal 1GB fusion drive
Can’t wait. Been patiently waiting for them to come out with a mini with retina display. Should be a huge success just like the new iPhones. Yayyyyy!
Here comes the iPad with iOS 7 and multiple users, with fingerprint reader. What ever that fingerprint reader is called iTouch, or something?
Wish list:
iPad 5 64bit, Mac Pro, Mavs, 30″ 4k Monitor that works with an iMac, 13″ Touchscreen Air that splits in half, 17″ MacBook Pro, updated Mac mini, new xServe rack mount that plays nice with exchange, 4k Apple TV box, and let’s not forget a new iPad mini. 🙂
I’ll immediately buy three of the first six.
Nice wish list. We’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure some of your want will come to fruition.
One rumor says new Mac Minis and MacBook Pros will be announced at the event as well.

my guess is it is going to be very game-centric. My guess is the invites will hint at gaming.
