Apple’s iOS leads Android two to one in U.S. Web usage

“Piper Jafray‘s Gene Munster today reiterates an Overweight rating on Apple (AAPL) and a $655 price target, writing that data he gleaned about how many people look at 70 different Websites in the U.S. suggest to him the company’s iOS operating system for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad ‘continues to perform well in traffic,’ leading usage of the Web on mobile devices running Google‘s (GOOG) Android software,” Tiernan Ray reports for Barron’s.

“Munster, noting Apple had 63% of Web surfing share in the U.S. as of Friday, up 2.6% from four weeks earlier, versus 28% for Android, which had only a 0.2% gain in that time, thinks Apple holds the pole position in smartphones and tablets in the U.S.,” Ray reports.
