Analyst: Apple ‘iTV’ special event next month, 4.8-inch iPhone slated for June 2014

“Jefferies & Co.’s Peter Misek, the one that has been predicting an Apple HDTV for quite sometime, today provided his roadmap for upcoming Apple product launches,” Jordan Kahn reports for 9to5Mac. “Misek is expecting an ‘iTV’-related event next month in March, the low cost iPhone and iPhone 5S in June or July, and the iPad 5, second generation iPad mini, and iTV in September/October.”

“He also believes that a 4.8-inch iPhone 6 is coming next year in June 2014 after running into manufacturing issues with in-cell display technology in the larger form factor and the move to a 20 nm processor,” Kahn reports. “Misek said that he thinks next month’s iTV related event could introduce an SDK for Apple’s new TV platform but not the TV set itself…”

Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors, “With the Apple TV software being based on iOS, Steve Jobs noted at the time of the launch of the revamped box in late 2010 that an App Store for Apple TV could launch when the time is right, indicating that the company has indeed been looking at opening up the platform to third-party developers.”
